We’re All About Exciting Programming
Our programs are the heart of JTI, as they bring teens from the 23 communities comprising Boston’s North Shore together for adventures, learning, friendship, service opportunities and more.
Our Programs Fall Into Five Main Categories:
Join other Jewish teens from the North Shore and across the country for a social justice seminar in DC, or fly with us to North Carolina for our annual Habitat for Humanity “Alternative Spring Break.” These longer-term programs, and others like them, foster life-long friendships and create life-changing opportunities for learning, reflection and growth.
Peer Leadership Fellows:
Launching in Fall 2016 and modeled after an acclaimed engagement approach used on college campuses by Hillel International, this new opportunity for Jewish teens on the North Shore trains and hires students to serve as recruiters and outreach officers to their peers.
Make an impact while fulfilling the Jewish value of “Tikkun Olam,” or repairing the world! Improve playgrounds, build houses, teach and play with kids in a shelter, make food for the homeless and do it all alongside friends from Newburyport to Nahant.
Reunite with local friends, travelers to Israel and make new friends at our Welcome Back BBQ at the end of each summer. Grab a pal and a coffee and join other teens at a Laser Quest Lock-in. Pack your skis, helmet and long johns for an overnight ski adventure at Loon Mountain in NH. Community+ events are always fun, are designed to appeal to a wide audience and help create friendships across town lines!
#NSMY Middle School:
North Shore Middle School Youth, #NSMY, is an exciting collaboration, launched in the fall of 2016 with area synagogues, schools and organizations. Our collective goal is to offer more opportunities for 6th-8th grade youth to interact socially and across the boundaries of school or temple, encouraging them to put down even stronger roots within our Jewish community.
