Learning to Lead Among Peers
Set in the background of a beautiful camp in early fall, teens have the opportunity to participate in leadership activities, Shabbat services, group games, team building exercises, and social activities.
NSTI sends Peer Leadership Fellows and other interested 10-12 graders to a collaborative leadership experience in partnership with the URJ’s Northeast Teen Collective Leadership Summit. The retreat has a unique focus on Jewish Justice and Social Advocacy. Utilizing Design Thinking, teens are able to define and share their personal mission statement; translate their passions into new ideas and concrete experiences; and develop a plan for bringing their ideas to life. The Summit provides real-life skill building with a focus on values clarification, community organizing, advocacy, event planning, and more. Participants go home inspired and excited about the potential of their own ideas.
