Repairing the World through Service

Each spring, for 8 years running, NSTI rallies Jewish teens (grades 6-12) and adult leaders from around the North Shore to participate in J-Serve, an annual day of service for Jewish youth around the world.

These incredible volunteers roll up their sleeves to work on team Mitzvah projects that help renovate a local school or shelter and it all happens on 1 international Jewish day of service! BBYO and NSTI teen leaders help facilitate the day’s good deeds.

PROJECTS INCLUDE: 1.) gardening and beautifying the grounds 2.) painting interiors 3). mural painting 4.) painting hop scotch board 5.) building picnic tables and benches

Once our renovation work is done, we announce the Derek Sheckman Award winners and celebrate with music & a bbq! Our J-Serve volunteers are building a better community for us all and accomplishing our mission to help “Repair the World”.
